Youth In Harmony Event awarded grant
Thanks to the work of Al Huneke and Bob Kerdus, our October YIH event has been awarded a $1,000 grant by the Cedar Rapids Community Foundation. With other contributions from members and supporters we are within a few hundred dollars of our the money needed to put on this event. If you have a contribution to make, please do so in the next few weeks. You can turn in a check to Gary Lindsay or Bob Kerdus this Thursday.
Board members who will be helping at the event need to complete Sexual Abuse Awareness Training. This training involves watching a number of videos and answering questions about them.. Please do this soon. The training can be accessed at this link. The video training will take about an hour and has content that is very important to know.
All members should put the Friends and Family Concert that night on their calendars as the chorus will perform. The concert will be at Prairie High, Friday, October 5 at 7 p.m. We will perform our contest set.
Doug Horton, lead, has been a member of the chorus for three years. His profession is dentistry and he is active in a practice along with his son. Doug enjoys singing in quartets and has sung Singing Valentines for the past two years. Thank you, Doug, for all your contributions to the chorus. Photo by John Hayden.
