Thank you to the group who performed yesterday for Christmas at Cedar Memorial. They performed a 45-minute set of Christmas music and selections from past shows and the Gospel Concert. It was well received and the chorus was given $500 for the performance.
Next up – Festival of Carols
The chorus will be joining forces with the Old Capital Chorus for Festival of Carols, a benefit concert at the Englert Theater in Iowa City, this Wednesday.
For this event, we’ll wear black shoes and pants, white shirt and any red, green, gold or silver accessories you wish. Hats, scarf, sweater. Our first song is Jingle Bells…if you have some bells to jingle, please bring them. Call time is 6:00 pm at Robert Lee Community Center (cookie festival location). We’ll depart for the Englert at 6:40. (We will make accommodations for anyone needing assistance getting to the Englert.)
Included in the music we will sing are two selections that linked here “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Silver Bells.” Please read through these and print a temporary copy if needed.
Thursday night – Caroling at Mercy Hospital
Meet at the 10th Street entrance at 6:00 p.m. We’ll start at the Hallmar Center to sing to and with Dave Scott and then sing at other places in the hospital. Bring your Christmas song books. (No rehearsal afterward.
Friday, Dec. 20 – New Citizen’s Ceremony

- When: Arrive in time to clear security by 12:45
- Uniform: Black pants, shoes and socks, red shirts, white ties

Rehearsal schedule
There is no rehearsal and Dec. 26 or Jan. 2. Regular rehearsals resume Jan. 9.
Recognition Banquet, Friday, Jan. 17
The Harmony Hawks Chorus invites you to our Annual Recognition Dinner, Friday evening, January 17 at the Cedar Rapids Country Club, 550 27th St. Drive, SE, Cedar Rapids. Social hour at 6 p.m., dinner served at 7. Cost per person is $20. Semi-formal attire is requested.
