Nightly discussions

I would like to thank everyone who has been participating in the week discussion topics. We have now completed four questions and I am working on the strategic plan document, which includes recaps from each of the questions.

Discussion topic this week: What can we do to make rehearsals more appealing to everyone?

Last week’s rehearsal

Our special guest last week, David Rivas of California, directs the chorus in “Keep the Whole World Singing.” David, who was in town visiting family, is a Gold Medalist, who sang lead for Masters of Harmony of Los Angeles, the 2017 International Championship Chorus . David shared some insights into the dedication needed to sing with a championship chorus. In addition to commuting for several hours each week to the 2-1/2 hour rehearsals, chorus members needed to memorize each song and qualify by singing them perfectly for a section leader before being allowed onto the risers. This was David’s second visit to the Harmony Hawks, the previous one was three years ago.

Family Picnic / Potluck

  • When: Sunday, July 28
  • Where: Ellis Park, Harbor View Pavilion

Children and guests are welcome.

This will be a potluck, so bring your meat, a dish to share and table service. The Harmony Hawks will provide water and pop. Alcoholic beverages are permitted, so if you want beer, wine, etc, you will need to bring your own. You should also bring chairs and games.
