Honor Flight Star Spangled Banner Sing-out

We will be singing the National Anthem and the Armed Forces Medley, at the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight orientation on August 25, 2024.  There are two sessions on this day, one that begins at 12:00 and the other at 3:00. We are to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start times.

Eastern Iowa Honor Flight is a 501C3 non-profit organization.  Their mission is to provide veterans the opportunity to visit Washington DC to see the memorials that are dedicated to their service and sacrifice to our country.

Annual Golf Outing

Please save the date of Friday, August 16th for our annual Harmony Hawk Golf outing!!  We will be playing Ellis Golf Course with tee times starting at 3:30.

Cost will be $45 which includes:

• 9 holes of golf
• Golf Cart
• Choice of hamburger or brat with chips and a soft drink or Gatorade.

We are having our meal and “awards” in the event center at the Ellis Clubhouse. (If you just want to join us for food and no golf, the cost is $12.00) If you have never played in this event, please consider joining us. We play in a 4 person best shot format.  GOLFING ABILITY IS NOT REQUIRED!!! Please plan on joining us for this fun event!!

Gospel Concert Talent Needed

Finally, we are looking for groups to perform in the Gospel Concert. If any member has groups that we might want to include, please let Wendell Aldrich or Larry Hlavacek know and provide their contact information.

Here is the Tuesday plan

We will be singing the Star Spangled Banner at the Kernels’ game on Tuesday. Plan on arriving at 6:00. Wear your blue and white jersey with jeans or dark shorts. Game time is 6:35, with us singing about 6:25. The advanced forecast is for 87 degrees and a 30% chance of rain.

If the game is canceled due to rain or wet grounds before we sing, there will be rehearsal at St. Paul’s beginning as usual at 6:30. Call Larry H. (319)981-0724 if you need to be let in.
