February 27, 2024

Reminder: Contest Chorus tonight begins at 5:30 in the St Paul’s Music Center. Please see the email text below for all the information.

You are invited to participate in a special contest chorus

CHECK YOUR EMAIL for the link to take the survey.

The boards of the Harmony Hawks and Old Capitol Chorus are proposing that their choruses make joint entries at two upcoming Central States District (CSD) chorus contests to enhance the competition experience for their members. All members are asked to complete the linked survey to indicate their interest and commitment to be part of this experience. By including your preferred email address, a copy of your responses can be sent to you.

In order to compete in these contests as a combined chorus, competing members will temporarily join the other chorus. There will be no additional dues. In the first contest we will compete as the Harmony Hawks. In the second we will compete as The Old Capitol Chorus. At the completion of these contests you will be able to drop the additional membership.

Musical and Etiquette Expectations

Each member is expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals and to notify the director of any absences prior to rehearsal <319-321-6788>(text messages preferred). The director has discretion to remove member from the competition chorus due to non-participation in rehearsals.

Additional expectations:

·   Each member is expected to bring music to each rehearsal (even if it’s no longer used) and update it with notes.
·   All members are expected to abide by riser etiquette that is conducive to learning music.
·   Normal chapter rehearsals will follow each weekday session.
